Kalamaki is located in the southern part of the island – in the bay of Laganas – in one of the most touristy regions of Zakynthos,  rightfully so in view of its beautiful sandy beach. However, Kalamaki is far more quiet and pleasant than Laganas. Distance to the airport is 4 kilometers and the City of Zakynthos 7 kilometers.

The beach of Kalamaki is the largest sandy beach of the island and one of the most important breeding areas of the famed water turtle, Caretta Caretta. Employees of the National Sea Park are always present for their protection and for the enlightenment of interested tourists.
